- All-India CPI inflation was 3.16% (provisional) in April 2025, the lowest year-on-year rate since July 2019, and food inflation fell to 1.78%, the lowest since October 2021, MoSPI said on 13 May 2025.
- The Inland Waterways Authority of India opened a new office at Srinagar's Transport Bhawan on 13 May 2025 and, under an MoU with the J&K government, will develop navigation infrastructure on NW-26 (Chenab), NW-49 (Jhelum) and NW-84 (Ravi).

- India's coal imports fell 9.2% to 220.3 million tonnes in April 2024–February 2025, from 242.6 million tonnes a year earlier, saving about US$ 6.93 billion in foreign exchange, the Coal Ministry said on 13 May 2025.
