WPI inflation eases to 0.85% in April 2025
Annual inflation based on the all-India Wholesale Price Index was 0.85% (provisional) in April 2025, down from 2.05% in March, the Commerce Ministry said on 14 May 2025.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on 14 May 2025 that annual inflation based on the all-India Wholesale Price Index (WPI, base year 2011-12) was 0.85% (provisional) in April 2025, compared with 2.05% in March 2025. Inflation was -1.44% for primary articles, -2.18% for fuel and power and 2.62% for manufactured products; the WPI food index inflation was 2.55%. Month-on-month, the WPI fell 0.19% from March. Positive inflation was mainly due to higher prices of manufactured food products, other manufacturing, chemicals, other transport equipment and machinery.
