- On 8 May 2026 India successfully flight-tested an Advanced Agni missile with a Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) system from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha, hitting multiple targets spread over the Indian Ocean Region.
- On 8 May 2026 DST announced that scientists at ARIES, Nainital found UV radiation from a massive star triggering new star formation in Bright Rimmed Cloud 44 in the Cepheus OB2 complex, identifying 22 new young stellar objects.
- The Bureau of Indian Standards hosted the 35th Plenary and Working Group meetings of the ISO TC 20/SC 14 'Space Systems and Operations' subcommittee in New Delhi, the first time India hosted them, with 131 delegates from 13 countries, the Consumer Affairs Ministry announced on 8 May 2026.

- The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), Mumbai, said on 4 May 2026 that enrolment is open for their national AI skilling programme for the creative sector, offering 15,000 scholarships developed with Google and YouTube.

- Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated a 100-bedded ESIC hospital at Doddaballapur, Karnataka, on 3 May 2026 and virtually laid the foundation stone of another 100-bedded ESIC hospital at Bellary, noting that social security coverage has risen from 19% in 2015 to over 64%.
- The Ministry of Electronics and IT clarified on 3 May 2026 that reports claiming Aadhaar would change by the end of the year to show only a photo and a QR code are not correct, and there is no plan for any such change.
