- The Cabinet Secretariat notified on 24 April 2026 the reconstitution of NITI Aayog, with Ashok Kumar Lahiri as Vice Chairperson and Rajiv Gauba, K. V. Raju, Gobardhan Das, Abhay Karandikar and M. Srinivas as full-time members; NITI Aayog was constituted by a Cabinet resolution of 1 January 2015.
- On National Panchayati Raj Day, 24 April 2026, marking 33 years of the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj released the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0 report for FY 2023-24, which cut indicators from 516 to 150 and covered 97.30% of Gram Panchayats.

- The Ministry of Corporate Affairs on 22 April 2026 expanded the eligibility of the pilot phase of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) to final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students aged 18–25, who must submit a No Objection Certificate from their institution.
