Export levies on petrol, diesel and ATF revised for fortnight from 1 June 2026

The Centre notified export levies (Special Additional Excise Duty) of ₹1.5/litre on petrol, ₹13.5/litre on diesel and ₹9.5/litre on ATF for the fortnight beginning 1 June 2026.

Summary

Export levies — Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) and Road and Infrastructure Cess (RIC) — on exports of petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel were introduced from 27 March 2026 to keep fuel available at home amid the West Asia crisis, and are revised every fortnight. For the fortnight from 1 June 2026 the rates are ₹1.5 per litre on petrol, ₹13.5 per litre on diesel and ₹9.5 per litre on ATF, all as SAED. Excise duty on petrol and diesel for domestic use is unchanged.
