- ISRO's GSLV-F15 lifted off from the Second Launch Pad at Sriharikota at 06:23 hrs on 29 January 2025 carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite, the 100th launch from India's spaceport.
- The Union Cabinet on 29 January 2025 approved the National Critical Mineral Mission with government expenditure of ₹16,300 crore and expected PSU investment of ₹18,000 crore, a total of ₹34,300 crore over seven years.
- A stampede in the Sangam area of the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj in the early hours of Mauni Amavasya, 29 January 2025, killed 30 people and injured 60, DIG Maha Kumbh Vaibhav Krishna announced.
- The Government approved the Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme for MSMEs on 29 January 2025, under which NCGTC will give 60% guarantee coverage on loans up to ₹100 crore for buying plant, machinery or equipment.
