- DPIIT said on 15 May 2025 that 187 startups were approved for income tax exemption under Section 80-IAC — 75 at the 79th and 112 at the 80th Inter-Ministerial Board meeting (30 April 2025) — taking the total past 3,700.
- India and the European Union launched two coordinated research calls under the India–EU Trade and Technology Council on 15 May 2025, on marine plastic litter and waste to green hydrogen, with a joint investment of ₹391 crore (about €41 million).

- The National Human Rights Commission invited entries on 14 May 2025 for its 11th annual short film competition on human rights, with a last date of 31 August 2025.

- All-India CPI inflation was 3.16% (provisional) in April 2025, the lowest year-on-year rate since July 2019, and food inflation fell to 1.78%, the lowest since October 2021, MoSPI said on 13 May 2025.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the National TB Elimination Programme on 13 May 2025, including the 100-day TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in which 12.97 crore people were screened and 7.19 lakh TB cases detected.
- India's Major Ports handled about 855 million tonnes of cargo in FY 2024-25, up 4.3% from 819 million tonnes in FY 2023-24, the Ports Ministry said on 13 May 2025.
- The Ministry of Ayush said on 13 May 2025 that, by a Gazette Notification of 23 March 2025, Ayurveda Day will be observed on 23 September every year instead of on Dhanteras.
- India's coal imports fell 9.2% to 220.3 million tonnes in April 2024–February 2025, from 242.6 million tonnes a year earlier, saving about US$ 6.93 billion in foreign exchange, the Coal Ministry said on 13 May 2025.

- International Nurses Day was observed on 12 May 2025 with the ICN theme 'Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies', and the State of the World's Nursing 2025 report put the global nursing workforce at 29.8 million in 2023.
- The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) signed an MoU with Synergy Quantum India on 12 May 2025 to jointly develop drone-based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems at Technology Readiness Level 6 or above.
