The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation released the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) monthly bulletin for April 2025 on 15 May 2025. In Current Weekly Status for persons aged 15 and above, the unemployment rate was 5.1% (male 5.2%, female 5.0%), the labour force participation rate (LFPR) was 55.6% (rural 58.0%, urban 50.7%), and the worker population ratio (WPR) was 52.8% (rural 55.4%, urban 47.4%). Female WPR was 32.5%. The PLFS sampling methodology was revamped from January 2025 to produce higher-frequency labour indicators.
