- The Union Cabinet approved the Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II) on 4 April 2025 as a fully Centre-funded scheme with an outlay of Rs 6,839 crore for villages along international land borders other than the Northern border.
- Parliament cleared the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 when the Rajya Sabha passed it in the early hours of 4 April 2025, after the Lok Sabha had passed it on 3 April.

- Indian Railways produced an all-time high of 41,929 wagons in FY 2024-25, the Railways Ministry said on 4 April 2025, up from 37,650 in FY 2023-24.
