Union Minister Jitendra Singh formalised the transfer of technology (ToT) of CSIR's indigenously designed and developed HANSA-3(NG) trainer aircraft for Commercial Pilot Licensing at the National Media Centre, New Delhi, on 4 April 2025, with the licence granted to Pioneer Clean Amps Pvt Ltd, Mumbai. The two-seater, developed by CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL), has a glass cockpit, a fuel-efficient Rotax 912 iSc3 Sports engine, a range of 620 nautical miles, 7 hours of endurance and a maximum cruise speed of 98 knots. CSIR-NAL has received letters of intent for more than 110 aircraft from flying training organisations, and the partner plans a facility to build 36 aircraft a year, scaling up to 72. The ministry noted that India will need 30,000 pilots over the next 15-20 years, up from 6,000-7,000 now.
