- The Department of Consumer Affairs amended the Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011 (announced 6 July 2026), cutting the standard weights needed to verify instruments of one tonne and above from 50% to 20% of capacity after a repeatability test.
- An international team including Dr Aru Beri of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics used the e-MERLIN radio array to study 280 nearby galaxies and found weakly active black holes in nearly a quarter of them (DST, 6 July 2026).
- Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed the 5th Foundation Day of the Ministry of Cooperation on 6 July 2026, citing nine national-level cooperative societies and a database of over 32 crore members.

- Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the first instalment (Mother Sanction) of Rs 25,863 crore to States under VB-G-RAM-G on 5 July 2026, and said no State will have a wage rate below Rs 300 a day.
- India, represented by Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare, will chair the Ninth Session of UNCTAD's Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, from 6 to 8 July 2026, the Department of Consumer Affairs said on 5 July 2026.
- INS Udaygiri, INS Shakti and INS Kavaratti of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet, led by Rear Admiral Alok Anand, concluded a three-day port call at Changi Naval Base, Singapore (reported 5 July 2026).
- The Department of Fertilizers said on 5 July 2026 that 15 vessels carrying fertilisers and raw materials for India had safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz, and that urea output in April-June 2026 reached 71.55 LMT against a target of 67.86 LMT.
