Parliament passes Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026
The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, which amends 784 provisions across 79 Central Acts, was passed by Parliament when the Rajya Sabha approved it on 2 April 2026, a day after the Lok Sabha.

India's defence exports reached an all-time high of ₹38,424 crore in FY 2025-26, up 62.66% from ₹23,622 crore the previous year, the Defence Ministry said on 2 April 2026.

Cabinet approves Modified UDAN with ₹28,840 crore outlay for 2026-27 to 2035-36
On 25 March 2026 the Union Cabinet approved the Regional Connectivity Scheme – Modified UDAN for ten years (FY 2026-27 to 2035-36) with an outlay of ₹28,840 crore, including 100 new airports and 200 helipads.
Cabinet approves India's NDC for 2031-35: 47% cut in emissions intensity, 60% non-fossil power capacity by 2035
On 25 March 2026 the Union Cabinet approved India's Nationally Determined Contribution for 2031-2035 under the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement, targeting a 47% cut in the emissions intensity of GDP from the 2005 level by 2035.

Government introduces CGSMFI-2.0 to revive bank lending to microfinance institutions
On 21 March 2026 the Government introduced the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Microfinance Institutions-2.0, under which NCGTC will guarantee bank loans to NBFC-MFIs and MFIs, facilitating credit of up to ₹20,000 crore and benefiting about 36 lakh small borrowers.
