- The Department of Commerce extended the RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) scheme up to 31 December 2026 with unchanged rates (Notification No. 41/2026-27, 30 September 2026).

- On 1 October 2026 the Ministry of Mines launched the auction of two offshore blocks in the Andaman Sea – Sewell Rise-01 and West Sewell Ridge-01 – with polymetallic nodules and crusts, for grant of Composite Licence.

- MoSPI released Annual Survey of Industries 2024-25 results on 30 September 2026: Gross Value Added of registered manufacturing grew 9.59% and total employment rose 7.19% to over 2 crore, with Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana the top five states in employment.

- The 14th meeting of the India–UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments (HLJTFI) was held in Mumbai on 28 September 2026, co-chaired by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
- On 28 September 2026 the Central Board of Direct Taxes extended the due date for filing income tax returns for Assessment Year 2026-27, for persons subject to audit, from 31 October to 21 November 2026.
- On 28 September 2026 the Ministry of Steel decided to set up a Steel Industry Safety Council (SISC), an apex industry safety body chaired by the Steel Secretary, supported by a new Steel Industry Safety Directorate (SISD).
