Sixth 25T Bollard Pull tug 'Sabal' for Indian Navy launched at TRSL, Kolkata

Tug Sabal (Yard 340), the sixth 25-tonne Bollard Pull (BP) tug for the Indian Navy, was launched at Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), Kolkata on 27 May 2025 in the presence of Cmde S Sreekumar, WPS Kolkata. The tugs are part of a contract for six 25T BP tugs concluded with TRSL on 12 November 2021, and are indigenously designed and built to Indian Register of Shipping rules. Four have been delivered. They help naval ships and submarines berth, unberth and manoeuvre in confined waters, provide afloat fire-fighting support and can conduct limited search and rescue.
