Government restores RoDTEP benefits for Advance Authorisation, SEZ and EOU exports

The Government on 27 May 2025 restored RoDTEP benefits for exports by Advance Authorisation holders, Export-Oriented Units and SEZ units, applicable to eligible exports from 1 June 2025.

Summary

The Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme benefits were restored for exports by Advance Authorisation (AA) holders, Export-Oriented Units (EOUs) and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on 27 May 2025. The benefits apply to eligible exports made from 1 June 2025. These categories had earlier been covered until 5 February 2025. RoDTEP, operational since 1 January 2021, reimburses exporters for embedded duties, taxes and levies not refunded under any other scheme and is WTO-compliant. Disbursements had crossed ₹57,976.78 crore as of 31 March 2025.
