Between December 2017 and December 2025, the number of credit-active women grew at a compound annual rate of 9% and credit penetration among women rose from 19% to 36%. Credit to women business borrowers grew at 31% a year between 2022 and 2025, against 17% for overall commercial credit, and the report counts nearly 45 crore credit-eligible women.
