NHAI's 12-km greenfield Dehradun bypass 44% complete, due by April 2027

NHAI is building a 12-km greenfield four-lane access-controlled Dehradun bypass linking to the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor at about ₹716 crore, with around 44% physical progress and completion expected by April 2027, the Road Transport Ministry said on 23 April 2026.

The alignment runs from Jhajhra, connecting the new Paonta Sahib–Ballupur section of NH-7, to the corridor near Asharori Check Post. The project costs around ₹716 crore, is about 44% complete and is expected to be finished by April 2027. To limit impact on forests, the right of way has been reduced to 30 metres from the usual 60 metres, some stretches have a regulated speed of 80 km/h, and a 350-metre Vehicular Over Pass has been planned for large animals.
