Procurement of 9,023 metric tonnes of sunflower at the Minimum Support Price in Karnataka for the Rabi 2026 season, under the Price Support Scheme and worth over ₹69.66 crore, was approved by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on a proposal from the Karnataka government, the Ministry said on 5 May 2026. The Centre also raised the maximum procurement limit of gram (chana) in Maharashtra for Rabi 2025-26 to 8,19,882 metric tonnes.
