The amendment lets both government and non-government entities use Aadhaar authentication for public-interest purposes such as innovation, spread of knowledge and ease of living, in sectors like hospitality, healthcare, credit rating, e-commerce and education. The portal gives a step-by-step SOP for applying and onboarding, and face authentication may be integrated in private entities' customer apps.
