Jan Suraksha schemes PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY complete 10 years

The three Jan Suraksha schemes — PMJJBY, PMSBY and Atal Pension Yojana — launched by PM Modi on 9 May 2015, completed 10 years on 9 May 2025.

Summary

The Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9 May 2015, completed 10 years on 9 May 2025. As on 23 April 2025, PMJJBY had over 23.63 crore cumulative enrolments with ₹18,397.92 crore paid; PMSBY had over 51.06 crore enrolments with ₹3,121.02 crore paid for 1,57,155 claims; and APY had more than 7.66 crore subscribers. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman described the vision as 'Securing the Unsecured'.
