Services had been suspended by an Office Memorandum of 22 August 2025 after US Executive Order 14324 suspended de minimis treatment for all postal shipments. After trials in the Delhi and Maharashtra Circles, India Post has set up a Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) mechanism with CBP-approved Qualified Parties, under which senders prepay customs duty in India. Customs duty on postal shipments from India to the USA is a flat 50% of the declared FOB value under the IEEPA tariff. India Post will not charge extra for DDP, and postal tariffs remain unchanged.
