The 7th Joint Committee meeting under the India–Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was held in Tokyo, Japan, on 2 March 2026, co-chaired by Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal and the Senior Deputy Minister of Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides reviewed implementation of the CEPA and ways to deepen economic engagement. On the sidelines, Agrawal met the Vice Minister of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) on trade, investment, the business environment and the upcoming 14th WTO Ministerial Conference; he sought more balanced trade and pointed to export potential in textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and services. A trade and investment roadshow was held with CII and Keidanren. The India–Japan CEPA was signed on 16 February 2011 and entered into force on 1 August 2011.
