India's IP filings rise 44% in five years; GI applications up 380%

Geographical Indications (GI) recorded the highest growth at 380%, followed by designs (266%), patents (180%), copyright (83%), trade marks (28%) and semiconductor integrated circuit layout-designs (20%). Patent filings rose from 24,326 to 68,176, and 95% of IP filings are now made online.
