The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) inducted Samudra Pratap (Yard 1267), its first indigenously designed and built Pollution Control Vessel (PCV), on 23 December 2025 under the two-PCV project of Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL). With over 60% indigenous content, Samudra Pratap is the largest ship in the ICG fleet, measuring 114.5 m in length with a displacement of 4,170 tonnes. Samudra Pratap is also the first ICG ship with Dynamic Positioning (DP-1) capability and carries oil-spill detection systems such as an oil fingerprinting machine for pollution response in the Exclusive Economic Zone and beyond.
