Green Ammonia Purchase Agreements and Supply Agreements were exchanged between industry, SECI and fertiliser companies at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, on 30 March 2026 under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, in the presence of Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and J P Nadda. The agreements run for 10 years and cover about 7.24 lakh tonnes per annum of green ammonia, replacing imported grey ammonia in non-urea fertiliser units and saving about $2.5 billion in foreign exchange over 10 years. The Mission (outlay ₹19,744 crore) targets at least 5 MMT of green hydrogen a year by 2030.
