Centre releases over ₹1,156 crore of XV Finance Commission grants to rural local bodies of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tripura

On 29 January 2026 the Centre released the second instalment of XV Finance Commission untied grants for 2025-26 to rural local bodies: ₹714.32 crore (Maharashtra), ₹410.76 crore (Andhra Pradesh) and ₹30.6 crore (Tripura).

Summary

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said the Union Government released the second instalment of Fifteenth Finance Commission untied grants for FY 2025-26 to Panchayati Raj Institutions in three states. Maharashtra got ₹714.32 crore for 26,407 gram panchayats and others, Andhra Pradesh ₹410.76 crore for 13,092 gram panchayats, 650 block panchayats and 13 district panchayats, and Tripura ₹30.6 crore for all 606 gram panchayats and others.
