On 23 October 2025, the Election Commission of India's two-day Conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) ended at the India International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar presided, with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. The Commission told CEOs to finish preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and reviewed progress in mapping current electors with those on the roll from each state's last SIR. It held one-to-one meetings with CEOs of the poll-bound states and UT of Assam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and West Bengal. This followed the first SIR preparedness conference on 10 September 2025.
