The Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM), a third-generation fire-and-forget weapon with top-attack capability, was successfully flight-tested against a moving target at KK Ranges, Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra, on 11 January 2026 by DRDO's Defence Research & Development Laboratory, Hyderabad. The indigenous missile uses an Imaging Infrared (IIR) homing seeker with day and night capability, an all-electric control actuation system and a tandem warhead able to defeat modern main battle tanks. Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited are the development-cum-production partners, and the missile can be launched from a tripod or a military vehicle launcher.
