The Tranche V auction of critical and strategic mineral blocks, launched on 20 January 2025, concluded with 10 of the 15 offered blocks successfully auctioned, the Ministry of Mines said on 27 May 2025. The blocks cover graphite, phosphorite, phosphate, rare earth elements, vanadium and, for the first time, potash and halite, across Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The total number of blocks auctioned by the Centre reached 34.
