₹1,500 crore critical mineral recycling scheme to create 3 lakh tonnes annual capacity

Summary

The scheme, a component of the National Critical Mineral Mission, supports extraction of critical minerals from secondary sources such as e-waste, spent lithium-ion batteries and other scrap. It was approved by the Union Cabinet on 3 September 2025 and launched with guidelines on 2 October 2025; applications are open from 2 October 2025 to 1 April 2026. Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research, Development & Design Centre (JNARDDC), Nagpur, is the Project Management Agency.
