The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) issued Statutory Direction No. 97 on 20 February 2026 to strengthen dust control and demolition waste management at construction sites across Delhi-NCR. The Commission noted that dust from construction and demolition (C&D) activities is a consistent contributor to PM10 and PM2.5, and that inspections had found compliance gaps in handling and transporting materials and debris. The direction takes note of the Environment (Construction and Demolition) Waste Management Rules, 2025, which come into force on 1 April 2026.
