The greenfield project is 78.942 km long and will cost ₹3,822.31 crore. It will improve connectivity between Patna and Bettiah, linking north Bihar districts up to areas along the Indo-Nepal border. The road will improve access to sites such as the Kesariya Buddha Stupa near Sahebganj and the Someshwarnath Mandir at Areraj, strengthening the Buddhist circuit.
