BAHS 2025 is based on the Integrated Sample Survey for 1 March 2024 to 29 February 2025. Milk output grew 3.58% from 239.30 MT in 2023-24, and per-capita availability rose from 319 g/day in 2014-15 to 485 g/day in 2024-25. India ranks first in milk production. The top five milk-producing states — Uttar Pradesh (15.66%), Rajasthan (14.82%), Madhya Pradesh (9.12%), Gujarat (7.78%) and Maharashtra (6.71%) — contribute 54.09%. Egg production was 149.11 billion (106 eggs per capita a year) and meat production 10.50 MT, with India ranked 4th in meat.
