Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved the advance release of ₹2,117.85 crore from the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) on 1 August 2026 for states hit by floods during the 2026 southwest monsoon. Advance first instalments were approved for Arunachal Pradesh (₹44.55 crore), Assam (₹379.35 crore), Gujarat (₹500 crore) and Maharashtra. Inter-Ministerial Central Teams have been deputed to Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, and one is being constituted for Nagaland. Of the seven affected states, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha and Nagaland had already received their first SDRF instalment for 2026-27.
