Ayush expert committee reviews safety dossiers of four herbs at AIIA Goa

On 21-22 July 2025, a National Expert Committee of the Ministry of Ayush met at the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Goa, to refine safety dossiers for Gokshura, Tulsi, Haridra and Chandrashura.

A National Expert Committee constituted by the Ministry of Ayush met at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, on 21-22 July 2025 to review safety dossiers for four Ayush herbs: Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Haridra (Curcuma longa) and Chandrashura (Lepidium sativum). Co-chaired by Dr. A. Raghu, Deputy Director General (Ayush), and Dr. J.B. Gupta, the committee includes experts from AIIA, AIIMS New Delhi, CCRAS, ITRA, IIT Jodhpur and CIMAP. The committee reviewed classical references, preclinical, toxicology and clinical data to strengthen safety documentation.
