The 3rd India–Japan Steel Dialogue was held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on 4 February 2025, jointly organised by India's Ministry of Steel and Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). It was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Vinod Kumar Tripathi of the Ministry of Steel and METI Deputy Director General Hideyuki Urata. India highlighted ease-of-doing-business measures, rising steel demand from infrastructure investment, and the release of the Green Steel Report and the Taxonomy of Green Steel. The two sides discussed the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (EU CBAM) and reviewed capacity-building programmes, and Japan assured continued support for investment in newer steel technologies in India. The dialogue is guided by the Memorandum of Cooperation on the steel sector signed on 22 December 2020.
