💡 Strategy (4 hafte ke liye):
  • 2025 mein Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para Jumble nahi aaye. Sabse zyada marks grammar rules (tense, voice, narration, SVA, modals, articles, punctuation) se hain — inhe pakka karo.
  • Vocabulary ke sawal "sentence mein underlined word" style mein aate hain. Sentence ka context padh kar positive/negative sense pehchano — aadha kaam wahin ho jaata hai.
  • Har topic ke PYQs dhyan se dekho — MPESB same question format repeat karta hai (e.g., "Choose the option that is NOT one of the meanings of the homonym ___").
⚠️ Note: Official PDF mein answer key nahi hai. Is page ke har PYQ ka answer grammar rules / standard dictionaries se verify karke diya hai. Jo 7 sawal ambiguous the (do options sahi ho sakte the), unhe chhod diya gaya hai.

📌 1. Parts of Speech & Verbals (शब्द-भेद) (7 min read)

English mein har word ek "kaam" karta hai — wahi uska part of speech hai. Golden rule: part of speech word se nahi, sentence mein uske kaam se decide hota hai. "Fast" noun bhi ho sakta hai (a fast), adjective bhi (a fast car), adverb bhi (runs fast).

Part of SpeechKaam (Hinglish)Example
Noun (संज्ञा)Kisi person, place, thing, idea ka naamRam, Bhopal, honesty, team
Pronoun (सर्वनाम)Noun ki jagah aata haihe, they, it, who, myself
Adjective (विशेषण)Noun/pronoun ki quality ya quantity batata haia brave officer, few people, her mere presence
Verb (क्रिया)Action ya staterun, is, seem, have
Adverb (क्रिया-विशेषण)Verb, adjective ya doosre adverb ko modify karta hai (how/when/where/how much)ran fast, very good, quite slowly, only
PrepositionNoun/pronoun ka doosre word se relation (place, time, direction)in, on, at, by, with, into
ConjunctionWords/clauses jodta haiand, but, because, although
InterjectionAchanak feelingOh! Alas! Hurrah! Wow!

1.1 Adjective vs Adverb — confusing words

  • Sab adverbs "-ly" pe khatam nahi hote: fast, hard, late, early, well, soon, very, often, only, then — ye bhi adverbs hain.
  • Kuch adverbs aur adjectives ka form same hota hai: a fast train (adj) / he drives fast (adv); a hard task (adj) / work hard (adv); an early bus (adj) / came early (adv).
  • -ly wale adjectives bhi hote hain: friendly, lovely, lonely, costly, ugly, silly, likely (a friendly man — adjective).
  • Hard vs Hardly: He works hard (mehnat se) ≠ He hardly works (mushkil se hi kaam karta hai). Late vs Lately: came late (der se) ≠ lately (recently).
  • "The then": the then Prime Minister = us samay ke PM → yahan then = adjective (noun "Prime Minister" ko describe kar raha hai).
  • "Mere": her mere presence → mere = adjective (presence noun ko describe).
  • "Only": Only if you try... → only = adverb (clause ko modify). Only jahan rakho, meaning badal jata hai: Only I met him / I only met him / I met only him.
  • Linking verbs (be, seem, look, feel, taste, smell, sound, become) ke baad adjective aata hai: The food tastes good (well nahi); She looks beautiful.

1.2 Verbals — Gerund, Infinitive, Participle

FormPehchanExample
GerundV-ing jo noun ka kaam kare (subject/object bane)Swimming early in the morning refreshes the mind. (subject) / I enjoy reading. (object)
Infinitiveto + V1To swim early refreshes the mind. / I want to go.
Present ParticipleV-ing jo adjective jaisa kaam karea running train; Students completing the assignment...
Past ParticipleV3 as adjectivea broken chair; the book written by him
  • Gerund ke baad aane wale verbs: enjoy, avoid, finish, mind, deny, suggest, admit, practise, risk, can't help, look forward to, be used to, object to → I look forward to meeting you (to meet nahi).
  • Infinitive ke baad aane wale verbs: want, decide, hope, agree, refuse, plan, promise, expect, afford.
  • Reduced relative clause: "who/which + verb" hata kar participle lagao — Students who complete the assignment... → Students completing the assignment will get extra credit. Passive: The book which was written by him → The book written by him.
  • Gerund se pehle possessive: I don't mind his coming late (formal English).
⚠️ Exam Traps:
  • "All adverbs end in -ly" = FALSE statement (2025 mein aaya).
  • "The then ___" mein then = adjective, adverb nahi.
  • Gerund = V-ing as noun; "To swim..." wala sentence infinitive hai, gerund nahi.

📌 21. Fill in the Blanks & Cloze Test (5 min read)

2025 ke paper mein "fill in the blanks" format bahut aaya (tense, articles, modals, collocations, SVA) — woh sab upar ke sections mein cover hai. Cloze test = ek passage mein kai blanks; 2025 mein nahi aaya, par format samajh lo.

💡 Fill in the Blanks — 4-step approach:
  • 1. Grammar clue: blank se pehle/baad dekho — "an ___" (vowel sound), "has ___" (V3), "to ___" (V1), "more ___ than", "by the time ___".
  • 2. Time marker: yesterday, since, next year, till now → tense decide.
  • 3. Collocation / fixed phrase: "dire ___", "carried ___", "in ___ of", "might ___ be".
  • 4. Meaning / tone: sentence positive hai ya negative? Contrast words (but, although, despite) ke baad ulta sense aata hai.
💡 Cloze Test approach:
  • Pehle poora passage ek baar bina blanks bhare padho — topic aur tone samjho.
  • Aasaan blanks (articles, prepositions, conjunctions) pehle bharo.
  • Har blank ke liye sirf us sentence nahi, aage-peeche ka sentence bhi dekho (linkers: however, therefore, moreover).
  • Aakhir mein poora passage dobara padho — flow natural lage.
✍️ Practice Cloze (self-made, PYQ nahi):

(C) on
(D) by
उत्तर: (B) at — fixed phrase "at an alarming rate".

(C) after
(D) for
उत्तर: (A) without — logic: bina check kiye details share karna hi problem hai.
Blank (3)
(A) has
(B) have
(C) is
(D) was
उत्तर: (B) have — "police" hamesha plural.

📌 22. Para Jumbles / Sentence Rearrangement (5 min read)

Kuch sentences (P, Q, R, S) ulte-seedhe diye hote hain; sahi logical order chunna hota hai. 2025 mein nahi aaya, lekin syllabus ke "comprehension" hisse mein aata hai.

💡 Method:
  • Opening sentence: topic introduce kare, kisi pronoun (he, it, this, they) ya connector (however, therefore, also) se shuru na ho.
  • Mandatory pairs dhoondo: noun → baad mein uska pronoun; statement → "for example"; problem → "however / but"; cause → "therefore / so"; "first … then … finally".
  • Chronology: saal, time words (earlier, later) ka order.
  • General → specific aur closing sentence conclusion/nateeja deta hai.
  • Options se elimination: pehla sentence ya ek pakka pair milte hi 2–3 options hat jaate hain.
✍️ Practice MCQ (self-made, PYQ nahi):
Arrange: P. It was founded to maintain law and order.  Q. The police force is one of the oldest institutions of the state.  R. Today, it also fights cyber crime.  S. Over time, its duties expanded to traffic control and crime prevention.
(A) QPSR
(B) PQRS
(C) QSPR

📌 23. Reading Comprehension Strategy (5 min read)

2025 ke 12 shifts mein passage nahi aaya, lekin tayyari ke liye basic strategy:

  • Pehle questions padho (sirf question, options nahi) — pata chalega passage mein kya dhoondhna hai.
  • Passage padhte waqt har paragraph ka main point dimaag mein 3–4 shabdon mein banao.
  • Question types: (1) Main idea / Title — poore passage ko cover kare, na bahut broad na bahut narrow. (2) Fact-based — passage mein seedha likha hai, line dhoondo. (3) Inference — likha nahi, par passage se zaroor nikalta hai. (4) Vocabulary in context — word ka woh meaning jo us sentence mein fit ho. (5) Tone — positive / critical / neutral / optimistic.
  • Apna bahari gyaan mat lagao — sirf passage ke hisaab se answer.
  • Extreme words (always, never, all, only) wale options aksar galat hote hain, jab tak passage mein waisa na likha ho.
✍️ Practice RC (self-made, PYQ nahi):
