26 October 2026 ko TRAI ne sifarish ki ki FAST sahit Application-based Linear Television Distribution (ALTD) services ko Telecommunications Act, 2023 ke tahat TV channel distribution ki alag sub-category mana jaye aur inke liye 20 saal ka national authorisation ho.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ne 26 October 2026 ko 'Authorisation Framework for Application-based Linear Television Distribution (ALTD) Services' par apni sifarishein jaari kin. Yeh prakriya Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) services par Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ke 15 December 2025 ke reference se shuru hui thi. TRAI ne sifarish ki ki ALTD ko Telecommunications Act, 2023 ke Section 3(1)(a) ke tahat 'Television Channel Distribution Services' ki alag sub-category banaya jaye, jismein national service area, 20 saal ki initial validity (10-10 saal ke liye renewable), ₹10,000 processing fee aur ₹1 lakh one-time entry fee ho, lekin koi authorisation fee ya bank guarantee na ho. MIB ek 'Master ALTD app repository' rakhega aur device makers sirf authorised ALTD apps hi uplabdh karayenge.
