Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the silver jubilee edition of TERI's World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2026 and the Environment Ministry's Him-CONNECT platform on 25 February 2026. Guyana's Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo was on the dais. Him-CONNECT connects researchers working in the Himalayan region with start-ups, industry, investors and policymakers, to turn research funded under the Ministry's National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) into scalable solutions. Yadav noted that the first Global Stocktake under the Paris Agreement showed the world is not on track to limit warming to 1.5 °C.
