On 19 November 2024, World Toilet Day, with the theme 'Toilets – A Place for Peace', the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban launched the five-week 'Clean Toilets Campaign 2024' (Swachh Shauchalaya – Humari Zimmedari), running until 25 December (Good Governance Day), to transform over 70,000 community and public toilets. Housing Minister Manohar Lal addressed a two-day National Knowledge Workshop in Lucknow, and the ministry signed MoUs with Hindustan Unilever for community toilets on a PPP model and with Sulabh International. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation launched 'Hamara Shauchalay: Hamara Samman', which runs until Human Rights Day on 10 December.
