World Summit on Disaster Management in Dehradun; three more weather radars for Uttarakhand

Addressing the World Summit on Disaster Management in Dehradun, Union Minister of State for Earth Sciences Dr Jitendra Singh said Uttarakhand already has weather radars at Surkanda Devi, Mukteshwar and Lansdowne, and three more will soon come up at Haridwar, Pantnagar and Auli. The state's network will have 6 radars, 33 observatories and 142 automatic weather stations. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended; the minister recalled the Silkyara tunnel rescue completed two years earlier.
