Under the PMAY-U Awards 2026, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh were recognised for the highest completion of Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC) houses, and Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for the most groundings under PMAY-U 2.0. Gujarat also won for its Town Planning Scheme practice and for the highest number of reforms under PMAY-U 2.0, while Tamil Nadu was recognised for its Shelter Fund practice. MoHUA announced that the PMAY-U Awards are being institutionalised and will be held every year on World Habitat Day.
