Wildlife Week 2025 at Dehradun on 'Human-Wildlife Coexistence': Project Sloth Bear, Project Gharial, Project Dolphin Phase II launched
On 6 October 2025 at the FRI campus, Dehradun, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav led Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations on the theme 'Human-Wildlife Coexistence' and launched five national projects including Project Sloth Bear, Project Gharial and a Centre of Excellence on human–wildlife conflict at SACON.

On 6 October 2025 at the Hari Singh Auditorium, IGNFA, FRI campus, Dehradun, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav presided over Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations organised by the Ministry with the Wildlife Institute of India, ICFRE, IGNFA and FRI, on the theme 'Human-Wildlife Coexistence'. Following the 7th meeting of the National Board for Wildlife, he launched five national projects: the action plan of Project Dolphin (Phase II), Project Sloth Bear, Project Gharial, a Centre of Excellence for Human–Wildlife Conflict Management at SACON, and 'Tigers Outside Tiger Reserves'. He also released four population-assessment plans and guides — the second cycle of river dolphin estimation, the All India Tiger Estimation Cycle-6 field guide in eight regional languages, the second cycle of snow leopard estimation, and a progress report on the Great Indian Bustard and Lesser Florican. Finalists of a national hackathon on human-wildlife conflict, which drew 120 teams, were felicitated.
