The editions were prepared by the Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice; PM Narendra Modi's message praised the use of simple Hindi words in the glossary. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal recalled that the Day traces to the 1952 struggle in the then East Pakistan to protect the Bengali language against the imposition of Urdu, and that 2008 was declared the International Year of Languages. He also recalled that President Droupadi Murmu released the first Santhali edition of the Constitution on 25 December 2025.
