Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr Virendra Kumar distributed PPE kits and Ayushman cards to sanitation workers under the National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) scheme in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on 8 May 2025, along with loan sanction letters for mechanised cleaning vehicles under the Swachhta Udyami Yojana. Nationally, 68,547 sewer and septic tank workers have been profiled under NAMASTE, 45,871 given PPE kits and 28,447 given Ayushman cards. The same day he visited Tisgaon Tanda in Khultabad taluka to review the SEED scheme (Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs); the Ministry has set up the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC).
