On 8 October 2024, at Thoise in Ladakh, Union Minister of State for Highways Harsh Malhotra formally flagged off the 'Vayu Veer Vijeta' car rally to Tawang, marking the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force and 25 years of India's 1999 Kargil victory. Organised by the IAF with the Uttarakhand War Memorial, the rally of over 50 participants will cover about 7,000 km across nine States/UTs. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh had given it a send-off from the National War Memorial, New Delhi, on 1 October 2024.
