On 22 November 2024 at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, 82 young artists were conferred the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the years 2022 and 2023, in a ceremony inaugurated by Culture Secretary Arunish Chawla. The Sangeet Natak Akademi, chaired by Dr Sandhya Purecha, instituted the award in 2006 in the name of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan for young performing artists up to 40 years of age in music, dance, drama, folk and tribal arts and other allied performing arts. It carries ₹25,000, a plaque and an angavastram. A festival of performances by the awardees followed from 22 to 26 November in New Delhi.
