Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the India campus of the University of Southampton in Gurugram, Haryana on 16 July 2025. The University of Southampton, a QS Top 100 institution and founding member of the UK's Russell Group, became the first foreign university to operationalise a campus in India under the University Grants Commission (Setting up and Operation of Campuses of Foreign Higher Educational Institutions in India) Regulations, a reform under the National Education Policy 2020. The university received its Letter of Intent on 29 August 2024. The Gurugram campus will offer UG and PG courses in computer science, economics, accounting and finance, business management, finance and international management.
