The Ministry of Education handed over the Letter of Approval (LoA) to the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, to establish its branch campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on 4 June 2026, in the presence of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. Secretary (Higher Education) and UGC Chairman Dr Vineet Joshi handed the LoA to Professor Richard Grose, Provost of University of Liverpool Bengaluru. The university had received a Letter of Intent on 26 May 2025 under the UGC (Setting Up and Operation of Campuses of Foreign Higher Educational Institutions in India) Regulations, 2023. The campus will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas such as business management, computer science, game design, finance and biomedical sciences.
