The monthly accounts of the Union Government up to November 2024 (FY 2024-25), released by the Finance Ministry on 31 December 2024, show total receipts of ₹18,94,408 crore, or 59.1% of the Budget Estimates (BE) 2024-25. Total expenditure was ₹27,41,002 crore, or 56.9% of BE, of which ₹6,58,494 crore went on interest payments and ₹5,13,500 crore was capital expenditure. The Centre transferred ₹8,12,063 crore to State Governments as devolution of their share of taxes during the period.
